He then worked at various New York hospitals for the next five years, including Seattle, and Washington. He also held positions with the Medical Research Council, NY Heart Foundation and the Wellcome Trust.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"gdlr-core-pbf-element\">\n<div class=\"gdlr-core-divider-item gdlr-core-divider-item-normal gdlr-core-item-pdlr gdlr-core-left-align\">\n<div class=\"gdlr-core-divider-container\">\n<div class=\"gdlr-core-divider-line gdlr-core-skin-divider\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"gdlr-core-pbf-element\">\n<div class=\"gdlr-core-text-box-item gdlr-core-item-pdlr gdlr-core-item-pdb gdlr-core-left-align gdlr-core-no-p-space\">\n<div class=\"gdlr-core-text-box-item-content\">\n<p>He worked as a thoracic and general surgeon in the north of NY and was appointed as a senior researcher in the Medical Research Institute of the New York Academy of Medical Sciences, with the main clinical focus of oesophageal surgery.
